The “Heydar Aliyev Cup 2026” international boxing tournament among boys and girls under the age of 17 (U-17) will kick off on May 2. Alongside the Azerbaijani national team, teams from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Latvia, Estonia, and Moldova, as well as a team of neutral athletes, will participate in the traditional competition to be held at the Baku Boxing Center.
A total of 185 boxers will compete in the tournament, with winners to be determined in 14 weight categories for boys and 9 for girls. The finals of the “Heydar Aliyev Cup 2026” will take place on May 7.
The opening ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM on the first day of the competition, followed by the bouts.
It should be noted that Pavlo Vasilinchuk (Ukraine) will serve as the supervisor of the “Heydar Aliyev Cup 2026,” while Anar Babanli will officiate as the chief referee.
