The quarterfinals of the Boxing World Cup in Guiyang, China, have concluded. Two more Azerbaijani boxers secured their places in the semifinals of the ranking event.

Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) faced Mohammad Nurani of Iran in his second bout of the tournament. The Azerbaijani boxer claimed victory by knockout in the second round and will now take on Gabriel Guido Rontani of Italy in the semifinals.

Murad Allahverdiyev (80 kg) also advanced to the semifinals after defeating Marlon Sevehon of Australia in the quarterfinals. Allahverdiyev earned a unanimous 5:0 victory (29:28, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27) and will next face Javokhir Ummataliyev of Uzbekistan.

With these results, the number of Azerbaijani boxers guaranteed at least a bronze medal has risen to three. Earlier, Alfonso Dominguez (90 kg) had also secured a place in the semifinals.

The semifinals are scheduled to take place on June 20.
