Another Azerbaijani boxer has secured a place in the semifinals of the U19 European Championships in Loznica, Serbia. Competing in the 60 kg weight category, Ali Bakhishov defeated Slovakia’s Kristian Harasik in the quarterfinals.

Bakhishov claimed a 4–1 victory (29:28, 28:29, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). By reaching the semifinals, he has also guaranteed himself at least a bronze medal.

The Azerbaijani boxer will face Turkey’s Furkan Avar on August 20 for a place in the final.

Earlier, Banuchichek Nasirli (48 kg) also secured a semifinal spot. She will face Ireland’s Ellen Joyce in the semifinals.
