The junior girls’ competition at the “Heydar Aliyev Cup 2026” international tournament in Baku has concluded. The Azerbaijani national team won a total of 17 medals in the tournament, which featured athletes from 8 countries.
In the U-17 team coached by Ilkin Agayev, Aysel Farajova (46 kg), Aydan Ismayilli (48 kg), and Sama Abbasova (66 kg) claimed championship titles.
Yegana Rahimova (48 kg), Fatima Mammadli (50 kg), Jamila Muradli (57 kg), and Ramziya Mirzayeva (70 kg) won silver medals, while Nasrin Abdullazade and Aysan Miriyeva (both 46 kg), Nurgul Ocaqova (48 kg), Tunca Murshudova and Sima Ismayilova (both 50 kg), Alsu Yafarova (52 kg), Narmin Abdullazade and Ayan Novruzlu (both 54 kg), Emiliya Beydullayeva (57 kg), and Aynur Valizada (63 kg) earned bronze medals.
With 3 gold, 4 silver, and 10 bronze medals, Azerbaijan finished first in the team standings of the girls’ competition. Georgia placed second with 3 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal, while the team of neutral athletes (AIN) finished third with 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
It should be noted that the tournament features teams from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova, as well as a team of neutral athletes. The boys’ competition will conclude tomorrow.
