The Boxing World Cup has kicked off in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. Azerbaijani national team member Nabi Isgandarov began the ranking tournament with a victory.

Competing in the 70 kg weight division, the Azerbaijani boxer faced Necat Ekinci of Türkiye in his opening bout. Isgandarov defeated his opponent by split decision — 3:2 (30:27, 28:29, 30:27, 28:29, 29:28).

He will face Murodjon Ashuraliyev of Tajikistan in the Round of 16 on April 22.

It should be noted that the World Cup will conclude on April 26.
