A general assembly of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation was held with the participation of Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov.

Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation Nagi Safarov presented a report on the federation’s activities during 2022–2026.

It was noted that President Ilham Aliyev’s special attention to the development of Azerbaijani sports has also enabled national boxing to achieve new successes. Over the past four years, Azerbaijani boxers have won a total of 650 medals at international competitions, including 178 gold, 165 silver, and 307 bronze medals. They have also set new records at several official tournaments. Important steps have been taken to improve the experience of young coaches and referees, while the material and technical base for boxing has been strengthened not only in Baku but also across the regions.

Elections for the federation’s leadership for the next four years were then held.

According to the voting results, Sahil Babayev was re-elected President of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, while Natiq Hasanov and Vagif Kazimov were elected Vice Presidents. Fuad Hajiyev and Rovshan Huseynov were elected members of the Executive Committee.

At the end of the meeting, Sahil Babayev expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and shared information about the federation’s upcoming plans and activities.
