The U19 European Boxing Championships continue in Loznica, Serbia. The second day of competition also proved successful for the Azerbaijani national team, with three more of our boxers starting their campaigns with victories.

Nihat Gasimov (55 kg) faced Aldit Delyu of Albania in the Round of 32. Our representative left his opponent no chance, securing a convincing 5–0 victory (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:26, 30:27). In the Round of 16, he will face Doryan Kropoq of the Czech Republic.

Shahin Aslanov (65 kg) also began his European Championships campaign with a win. In his opening bout, our boxer defeated Scotland’s Oskar Stili 3–0 (28:28, 29:27, 29:27, 28:28, 29:27). In the Round of 16, the national team member will face Muhammad Ali Seferbekov of Russia.

Adil Zalov (75 kg), meanwhile, needed just 2 minutes and 11 seconds to advance to the next round. He claimed a dominant victory over Achillas Kalogeridis of Greece in the first round. In the Round of 16, our boxer will test his strength against Andrey Novik of Belarus, who received a bye in the opening round.

All three bouts will take place on August 16.

It should be noted that three Azerbaijani boxers also secured victories on the opening day of the championships.
