The Round of 16 has concluded at the U19 European Boxing Championships for male boxers in Loznica, Serbia. On the final day of this stage, three more members of the Azerbaijani national team secured their places in the quarterfinals.

Nihat Gasimov (55 kg) faced Doryan Kropoq of the Czech Republic in his second bout. The contest ended in victory for the Azerbaijani boxer, who claimed a dominant win in the third round. Gasimov will face Ruben Hujmann of England in the quarterfinals.

Ali Bakhishov (60 kg) also recorded another victory, defeating Croatia’s Petar Krpan 5–0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). He will face Kristian Harasik of Slovakia for a place in the semifinals.

Shahin Aslanov (65 kg) continued the team’s successful run, defeating Muhammad Ali Seferbekov of Russia 3–2 (28:29, 29:28, 27:30, 30:27, 29:28). Aslanov will take on Yashua Flemming of England in the quarterfinals.

With these results, the number of Azerbaijani male boxers who have reached the quarterfinals has increased to four. Earlier, Ali Aliyev (50 kg) also secured his place in the last eight.

Today, one Azerbaijani female boxer will compete in the Round of 16, while two others will take part in quarterfinal bouts.
