In the 55 kg division, Zidan Hunbatov defeated Agustin Susloagan of Uruguay in the Round of 16 with a dominant 5:0 score (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28, 30:27). He will face Rafael Lozano Serrano of Spain in his next bout on April 23.

Mahammad Abdullayev (+90 kg) also started the World Cup with a victory. The Azerbaijani boxer defeated Jakub Domurad of Poland in the Round of 16 by a unanimous 5:0 decision (30:27, 30:27, 29:28, 30:27, 29:28). Abdullayev will take on Luka Pratljacic of Croatia in his second fight of the tournament on April 24.
