The Round of 16 bouts have concluded at the World Boxing Cup in Guiyang, China. Three more members of the Azerbaijan national boxing team have advanced to the quarter-finals of the ranking tournament.

In the 55 kg weight category, Amin Mammadzade faced Samandar Olimov of Uzbekistan in his second bout. The Azerbaijani boxer claimed a 4:1 victory (29:28, 29:28, 28:29, 29:28, 30:27) to secure his place in the quarter-finals, where he will take on Nikhil Nikhil of India.

Nabi Isgandarov (70 kg) defeated Velvan Tan of Singapore by unanimous decision, 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). He will next face Deepak Deepak of India in the quarter-finals.

Murad Allahverdiyev (80 kg) also booked his place in the quarter-finals with a dominant 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:26) victory over Vitali Walter of Germany. He will now meet Marlon Sevehon of Australia.

The quarter-final bouts will take place on June 19, with five Azerbaijani boxers competing for places in the semi-finals. One member of the national team has already secured a berth in the semi-finals.
